Student of Baku Higher Oil School awarded Certificate of High Achievement at International Collegiate Programming Contest

Students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) took part in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (the Northern Eurasia region) in Tbilisi.

 

BHOS was represented at the competition by four teams headed by Suleyman Suleymanzade, senior lecturer at Process Automation Engineering Department.

 

The BHOS teams consisted of the following students who study for a Bachelor’s degree in Process Automation Engineering, Information Security, Oil and Gas Engineering: Kamal Bagirli (IV year), Rahim Balabekov (III year), Narman Taghizade (IV year), Ashraf Abbasov (IV year), Azer Aliyev (IV year), Emil Nagizade (IV year), Hasan Hasanov (II year), Kanan Mahammedli (II year), Mirnikat Jabbarly (II year), Hasan Iskenderli (II year), Khayal Farzaliyev (II year) and Famil Babaev (II year).

 

Our teams successfully participated in the semifinal round of the International Programming Contest and were awarded certificates. Kamal Bagirli, a member of the BHOS-1 team, was awarded a Certificate of High Achievement for solving four problems.

 

In total, 275 teams from 15 different countries took part in the competition, which was held simultaneously in four cities: Tbilisi, St. Petersburg, Barnaul and Alma-Ata.

 

The ACM-ICPC (Association for Computing Machinery — International Collegiate Programming Contest) is the largest programming competition held among university students. Participating in the ACM-ICPC contest in a team format, students work on solving real global problems, improve their skills in such areas as teamwork, creativity, innovative approach, and develop their ability to work under difficult conditions.
