              Mazahir Mammadov is one of the 23 students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) who showed the highest results in the entrance exams for the first group of specialities for the 2019/2020 academic year, and were awarded the Presidential Scholarship for this in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Having scored 683.2 points, he entered the Information Security Department of BHOS.

 

             Mazahir Mammadov was born in 2002 in Ordubad city in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He graduated from school-lyceum №261 named after I. Mamedov in Khatai district.

 

              What is your impression of the entrance exams?

              I felt tension before the exam, but I kept calm during both stages of the exam. I was more worried when I was waiting for the exam results.

 

              How did you know about Baku Higher Oil School?

              Among the students of Baku Higher Oil School were my relatives. I also heard about the high quality of teaching at the Baku Higher Oil School from other BHOS students.

 

              Why did you choose the BHOS?

              After my close relative had enrolled in the Baku Higher Oil School, I began browsing information about the BHOS on the Internet, including the school’s website and social networks. I chose the Baku Higher Oil School, because it is best suited for my speciality.

 

               How did you achieve your goal to enter Baku Higher Oil School?

               I did not spend too much time on lessons. Thanks to my good perceptive abilities, I learned the teaching material in the classroom. I didn’t give up on my social life for studies. I played games, watched films, spent leisure time with friends. Frankly, my teachers were very literate people, and all this helped me achieve my goal.

 

               What can you say about the role of your family in your education?

               At first, I didn’t learn lessons well. Then, I, together with my sister, signed up for the preparatory center. She signed up for the 4th group and I – for the 1st group. My sister gave me special support. Whenever I had difficulty, I turned to her for help. I scored high at the final test exams and achieved good results. Honestly, had I been told at the time that I would be awarded a presidential scholarship, I probably would not have believed it. The support of my family and it’s faith in me played a very important role.

 

               What do you want more than anything else in life?

                For now, my biggest dream is to find a job that will make me happy.

 

               What is your hobby?

               I like watching movies, playing computer games and reading comics on the Internet.

 

               What book genre do you enjoy reading most?

               I don’t read many books. However, I occasionally read detectives.

 

              What are your future goals regarding your education at Baku Higher Oil School?

               For now, I’m thinking about getting solid education at the BHOS, where I will study for five years.
