Baku Higher Oil School to implement joint project with Italy and Kazakhstan
Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov met with Professor of Economics at the University of Milan-Bicocca, Director of the GEM “Green Energy Management” Summer School, Ms. Silvana Stefani.
Welcoming the guest, Elmar Gasimov thanked Silvana Stefani for organizing such a global initiative as “Green Energy Management” in Azerbaijan. He noted that, as elsewhere in the world, the topic “Energy Solutions for Sustainable Environment” is a priority in our country. The rector emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation in this area in the future. Elmar Gasimov expressed the readiness of the Baku Higher Oil School to always support such useful initiatives.
“I believe that it would be useful to sign a Joint Memorandum on mutually beneficial cooperation,” he added.
Director of the GEM “Green Energy Management” Summer School Ms. Silvana Stefani, in turn, expressed appreciation for the high organization, hospitality and support. She emphasized that holding a Summer School in Baku will make a significant contribution to the development of the energy sector in Azerbaijan. In this context, she expressed high opinion of the lectures given by the BHOS’s professors and teachers.
“In this regard, we consider it important that teachers and students of the Baku Higher Oil School participate in Summer Schools that will be held in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates in the coming years.
I propose that the University of Milan-Bicocca, together with the Baku Higher Oil School and any university in Kazakhstan, realize a joint project in accordance with the concept of "Sustainable Development for Development of Human Capital," Silvana Stefani said.
At the end of the meeting, a decision was made to begin the joint implementation of this proposal.
Note that a Summer School on the topic of “Green Energy Management - Energy Solutions for Sustainable Environment” is currently underway in Baku. The event, jointly organized by the Baku Higher Oil School and the Italian University of Milan-Bicocca with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Azerbaijan and the Maire Tecnimont Group, will run till September 24.
