BP Vice President Niall Henderson conducts workshop at Baku Higher Oil School

         Vice president of BP in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey region (AGT), Head of planning and commercial operations Niall Henderson conducted a workshop for MBA students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). He provided brief information about BP worldwide activities and the company initiatives aimed at gradual energy transition, which can be defined as a long-term structural change in energy systems. Having emphasized that BP is committed to build new low carbon businesses, Niall Henderson spoke about operations carried out by Lightsource BP, a global market leader in development and implementation of solar projects, and BP Solar, a manufacturer and installer of photovoltaic solar cells. In his words, the company is one of the best wind and solar power producers in the world.

 

          The presentation also highlighted renewable energy projects and developments in Azerbaijan. Talking about renewable energy sources share in the country, the speaker paid special attention to the energy potential of renewables in Azerbaijan. The workshop concluded with a discussion and question-and-answer session.

 

          BHOS regularly hosts informal business sessions for the MBA students conducted by local and international experts from large companies and organizations. The sessions held under the motto “Professional Business Talk” aim to raise the students’ awareness of the business world and provide them with the opportunity to discuss practical issues with senior colleagues.
