Director of Gas Processing Plant visits Baku Higher Oil School
Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a meeting with Director of SOCAR Gas Processing Plant (GPP) Agshin Pashayev. It was also attended by BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov, Head of GPP’s HR department Melahet Gurbanova, dean of the Higher School’s Engineering Department Zafar Gurbanov, and BHOS students and key staff members.
Welcoming the guests, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov said that the SOCAR Gas Processing Plant is one of the largest industrial enterprises of the national energy sector. GPP Director Agshin Pashayev told about history of the Plant, which was put into operation in 1961, and production of natural gas and gas products including gas condensate, commercial butane and propane-butane mixture. In his words, GPP currently employs 521 specialists and its doors are always open for students.
As the Head of the HR department Melahet Gurbanova reported, the BHOS undergraduates would be provided with information about job opportunities and vacancies at GPP in the nearest future. It was agreed to organize the BHOS undergraduates’ technical visits to the plant and arrange their participation in the internship programs. At the end of the meeting, the speakers answered questions regarding employment procedures and possibilities to attend on-the-job training at the SOCAR Gas Processing Plant.
The guests were given a tour around the campus. They visited the training laboratories, library, sports complex and other facilities.
