National Independence Day commemorated at BHOS
Baku Higher Oil School hosted a special event to commemorate the National Independence Day, one of the most important milestones in the modern history of Azerbaijan. It was attended by the BHOS management, teachers, administration staff members and students.
Opening the gathering, the Vice-Rector for General Affairs Rashad Hasanov extended his congratulations to the participants and emphasized that on October 18, 1991, the Constitutional Act “On the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was adopted. In his words, the achievements attained by the republic are results of the wise strategy developed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and implemented by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Associate professor of BHOS English Language and Humanitarian Disciplines Centre, Ph.D. in history Alamdar Shahverdiyev made a report dedicated to the significance of the National Independence Day. He also noted that young people should thoroughly study this period of Azerbaijan history to learn more about the struggle of Azerbaijani people for the freedom of their motherland. Second-year Process Automation Engineering students Aykhan Haqverdili, Sanan Hasanov and Tural Hasanov made a presentation entitled “Long way to freedom”. It highlighted the most remarkable milestones in the development of modern Azerbaijan as an independent state.
