On April 19-22, 2016, 4th Students’ Scientific and Technical Conference dedicated to 93rd Anniversary of the National Leader Haydar Aliyev was held at BHOS. The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by BHOS management, faculty, students, as well as representatives of SOCAR and international companies operating in Azerbaijan. 

Speaking at the conference, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov expressed gratitude to the Organizing Committee, which organized the conference at a high level, the teaching staff, all the participants who approach scientific work with great responsibility and interest and international companies. The rector said that the scientific and technical conference have stimulated students’ interest in science, allowing them to develop the ability to conduct scientific research activities and present their results.

Expressing satisfaction with the results of the students' scientific work, Elmar Gasimov expressed confidence that BHOS students will have a bright future and make a great contribution to the development of science in Azerbaijan. He also praised the publication of students' scientific works in a book collection, noting that this collection is evidence of the interest of Azerbaijani youth in science. Then, the representatives of international companies participating in the conference thanked the BHOS management for holding this prestigious event and their contribution to the development of science.

Rector Elmar Gasimov awarded the participants who made the most interesting reports with BANM diplomas of various degrees and incentive awards from SOCAR, BP, Statoil, Total, Schneider Electric, Schlumberger, Emerson Process Management, ABB and Avandsis Group.

In total, 13 students of the Petroleum Engineering Department, 9 students of the Process Automation Engineering Department, 18 students of the Chemical Engineering Department, 12 students in the Physics and Mathematics section were awarded diplomas and incentive prizes. In addition, 12 students who presented the best reports were awarded one-month scholarship by the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources.
