Elmar Gasimov elected as member of EURAS Board
Rector of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov attended the General Meeting of the Eurasian University Association (EURAS) at Istanbul Aydin University in Turkey. A new EURAS Board of Directors was elected at the meeting, which aims to work with EURAS member universities, address current issues in university governance and determine future development plans.
Rector of BHOS Elmar Gasimov was elected a member of the Board. The members of the Board have the authority to prepare the budget, manage the association, appoint local and international representatives, as well as perform a number of important functions. Along with Azerbaijan, university representatives from Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, England, Pakistan, Latvia, Poland and a number of other countries were elected members of the Board.
Recalling that BHOS has been a member of EURAS since 2019, Elmar Gasimov said that several projects were implemented jointly with EURAS during this period, and webinars on future opportunities and development were organized. The rector stressed that as a member of the Board, he would make a great contribution to future cooperation and prospects.
Founded in 2008, EURAS is an association of universities and other higher education institutions in the Eurasian region. The Union promotes cooperation between more than 110 universities from Western and Central Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East and Asia, and works for the global development of educational standards in the Eurasian region.
